Tribal Bellydance Basics Tribal style bellydance receives influence from traditional styles of bellydance as well as other forms dance, such as classical Indian, American hip hop, and Polynesian, to name just a few. Its modern history begins with groups such as Fat Chance Bellydance and Bal Anat, but it's ancestry is as ancient as the cultures it draws influence from. This class will focus both on exploring current developments in tribal fusion and also developing a vocabulary of dance movements to use during improvisation. Suitable for dancers of all technique levels.
Tribal Belly Dance Level II This class focuses in part on expanding the vocabulary of improvisational group tribal movements, and in part on a tribal fusion choreography. More advanced combinations, layering, and accents will be the focus. Zills are also introduced, so after the first class you will need a set of your own. Your teacher will have some available for purchase.
Tribal Belly Dance Level III This class will alternate sessions between focusing on tribal improvisation and tribal fusion. Layering two and more movements and mastering advanced combinations, as well as learning rhythm and zill technique will be the focus. Students will begin to polish their leading skills and advanced improvisation patterns and combinations will be introduced.
