Maya's Oasis is a small dance/event studio located in the Northland area of Kansas City, MO. Located on 3 acres of wooded land in a "country neighborhood", Maya's Oasis is both peaceful and conveniently located. This small and cozy location features our monthly Holistic Health Women's Circle (The Lodge of the Butterfly Goddess), as well as small semi-private belly dance classes and private belly dance lessons. (For information on our larger group classes, please click on any of our other locations.)
Please note that although there is a Road Closed sign on Brighton Ave, you can still drive on through to 63rd and Maya's Oasis. Maya's Oasis is in a country neighborhood. There is a large white banner on the front fence that reads, "The Maya Zahira School of Belly Dance". Please pull into the gravel driveway and park in the grass.

This means that you don't have to worry if you have to miss a couple of classes--because those classes were free anyway! (Due to this discounted rate, there are no make-ups for missed classes.)

Facilitated by Maya Zahira, this women’s circle, called “The Lodge of the Butterfly Goddess”, is modeled after the work and teachings of Maya’s mentor and friend, Kathy Daugherty, as well as the writings of author Queen Afua and others. This lodge is a 12-month Mystery School which will be open to new members February, March and April. Meetings will begin in February of 2010 and will be held one Saturday afternoon each month. For more information about the inspiration and teachings of this circle, please see Kathy Daugherty’s website.
