Sacred Woman Healing Circle (Begins April 2012)

Experience healing, inspiration and transformation in a sacred safe space. Each month we will explore a different topic as we learn to heal ourselves and the planet. Topics include: holistic healing, relationships, healthy foods, natural beauty care, space clearing, practical intuition, sacred movement, deepening your own spiritual practice, and more. New members may join any time.
Class will be held from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays each month.

Maya's Oasis is a small dance/event studio located in the Northland area of Kansas City, MO. Located on 3 acres of wooded land in a rural neighborhood, Maya's Oasis is both peaceful and conveniently located. This small and cozy location features our holistic health classes, Reiki sessions, small semi-private belly dance classes and private belly dance lessons. Please pull into the gravel driveway and park in the grass.
Cost:
$35 per month ($20 drop-in per individual class)

Facilitated by Maya Zahira, this women’s circle, is modeled after the work and teachings of Maya’s mentor and friend, Kathy Daugherty, as well as the writings of authors Dr. Christiane Northrup, Queen Afua and others. April 28--BELLYDANCE BASICS
Did you know that belly dancing looks beautiful on women of ALL ages, shapes, and sizes? Join us for creative movement and exercise in a positive, supportive and fun setting! This class will cover the basics of hip, rib cage, and arm isolations, as well as simple turns, traveling steps, and combinations. No experience necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. Instructor will provide materials.
June 2—BELLYDANCING WITH VEILS— Learn to create mystery, intrigue, and grace by belly dancing with a veil! Class will include instruction in basic veil manipulation, veil combinations, veil wraps, fun veil tricks and tips, plus exciting entrances and exits with the veil. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement. This class is beginner-friendly!
Instructor will provide veils to students. Optional—Students may bring their own veil, any floaty fabric approximately 3 yds in length.
July 14—GYPSY BELLYDANCE
Join us for an upbeat class filled with fun, feisty, sassy Gypsy bellydance moves! Students will learn basic Gypsy bellydance technique, including hip and pelvic movements, traveling steps, and even fiery skirt-work. No experience necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement.
Instructor will provide materials, including skirts for class. (Optional—Students may bring their own Gypsy skirt. Skirt should be very full, approx. 25 yds.)
Instructor Bio
Bellydance instructor, Mandilyn, has studied belly dance for over 10 years from various local Kansas City instructors and DVDs. She began taking classes from Maya Zahira in 2008. Mandilyn enjoys belly dance both as a body movement art and for the workout itself. She believes that belly dance is a great way to move your body from head to toe and have fun! As an instructor, she wants to share her joy and fulfillment she receives from dancing with her students.

~ABOUT REIKI I and II WORKSHOPS~
Learn to enhance your body's natural ability to heal. After taking this workshop, you will be able to use Reiki to assist in healing yourself and your loved ones.
Reiki works on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual issues. It is a natural, safe, gentle healing method from Japan that has been practiced for thousands of years.
In modern times, Reiki has become a well-known and accepted method of complementary/alternative medicine. It is used by medical professionals, massage therapists and energy healers, and everyday people who wish to take healing into their own hands.

Wow, that Reiki Workshop was wonderful! I learned a lot, and now I have some new tools to use on myself, and with clients, friends, and pets. Loved the Reiki Workshop! I had a chance to use what I learned. I fell down some steps a week ago and really banged my knee. It was bleeding and I could barely walk. I covered it with Traumeel gel, packed it in ice - (actually, bags of frozen vegetables) - and did Reiki. I was back at the dojo and able to participate in Aikido class that same night. A week later it has almost entirely healed. Thank you, Maya!

~How to call upon your Spirit Guides to assist in your Reiki sessions
Class is taught in accordance with the guidelines, ethics, and principles of The International Center for Reiki Training. Participants will receive a copy of the workbook, "Reiki: The Healing Touch First & Second Degree Manual" by William Lee Rand. This manual is used by over 4000 Reiki Masters
as their class workbook!
Lunch is on your own from approximately noon to 1:30. (Bring sack lunch or go out to eat.) Please bring plenty of water, personal snacks, and any other personal items you will need for the day. Water and light snacks will be provided.
