Zona Yoga is located in the beautiful Zona Rosa shopping district (near Dillards). Covered parking is conveniently located.
Warm up during the winter weather with this fun and exciting bellydance workshop, filled with hot new bellydance combinations by Maya Zahira. The first hour of class will focus on warm-up and fundamentals for all levels, then we’ll move into more complex movements and combinations that will challenge every level of dancer.
Pre-requisite: It is suggested that workshop participants have had at least one prior bellydance class. This class is open to ALL levels, however, the class will be geared toward intermediate/advanced students. All are welcome. Be prepared for fun and challenging material!

~ABOUT REIKI I and II WORKSHOPS~
Learn to enhance your body's natural ability to heal. After taking this workshop, you will be able to use Reiki to assist in healing yourself and your loved ones.
Reiki works on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual issues. It is a natural, safe, gentle healing method from Japan that has been practiced for thousands of years.
In modern times, Reiki has become a well-known and accepted method of complementary/alternative medicine. It is used by medical professionals, massage therapists and energy healers, and everyday people who wish to take healing into their own hands.
~HERE'S WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING~
Wow, that Reiki Workshop was wonderful! I learned a lot, and now I have some new tools to use on myself, and with clients, friends, and pets. I felt like my body's energy was being re-aligned during the workshop. I slept and slept after I came home, and today I feel great! I am looking forward to Reiki II in the fall! Thank you, Maya!
Loved the Reiki Workshop! I had a chance to use what I learned. I fell down some steps a week ago and really banged my knee. It was bleeding and I could barely walk. I covered it with Traumeel gel, packed it in ice - (actually, bags of frozen vegetables) - and did Reiki. I was back at the dojo and able to participate in Aikido class that same night. A week later it has almost entirely healed. Thank you, Maya!
In this workshop, students will learn traditional Usui Reiki I technique, including:
~How to sense and channel energy
~Usui Reiki hand positions
~How to give Reiki to yourself and others
~Reiki symbols (Level II only)
~How to send Reiki at a distance (Level II only)

Plus, Maya will share much of the wisdom she has learned from her 10+ years of Reiki practice, including:
~How to set effective and safe energy boundaries
~The different types of intuition, how to determine your own intuitive style, and how to apply it to your Reiki practice
~How to connect with both Earth energy and Universal energy to enhance your Reiki practice
~How to call upon your Spirit Guides to assist in your Reiki sessions
Class is taught in accordance with the guidelines, ethics, and principles of The International Center for Reiki Training. Participants will receive a copy of the workbook, "Reiki: The Healing Touch First & Second Degree Manual" by William Lee Rand. This manual is used by over 4000 Reiki Masters
as their class workbook!
Lunch is on your own from approximately noon to 1:30. (Bring sack lunch or go out to eat.) Please bring plenty of water, personal snacks, and any other personal items you will need for the day. Water and light snacks will be provided.

The Lodge of the Butterfly Goddess (Women's Circle)
Our women's circle will resume in March 2012.

Facilitated by Maya Zahira, this women’s circle, called “The Lodge of the Butterfly Goddess”, is modeled after the work and teachings of Maya’s mentor and friend, Kathy Daugherty, as well as the writings of author Queen Afua and others. This lodge is a 12-month Mystery School which will be open to new members February, March and April. Meetings will begin in February of 2010 and will be held one Saturday each month from noon to 5:00. Each meeting will begin with a vegetarian potluck. Call 785-979-4681 for details. Communiversity Wholistic Health Fair

Communiversity is proud to announce its Spring2010, Wholistic Health Fair, scheduled for Sunday, March 20, from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM, at the UMKC University Center, Pierson Auditorium, 5100 Holmes, KCMO.
Since 1999 many new health and therapeutic professionals from in and around the Kansas City area have gotten together to share ideas and techniques with each other and with the public.
With 60 booths and 20 workshops, the Wholistic Health Fair will demonstrate and teach a variety of techniques for staying healthy and maintaining vitality and youthfulness.
Maya's Oasis will also have a booth with belly dance and wellness merchandise, as well as information about our classes and services.
Admission to the fair is FREE! Participants may pay $2 per workshop or any 3 workshops for $5 (1 free with a coupon)
